Test Descriptions:

1 Chromatography - We got pens from the suspects and put a dot on a piece of paper from each pen. Then be got a piece of paper with the writing from the killer. We put all of it in a beaker with alcohol and compared the outcomes.
2 pH - We used a pH electronic indicator to find a more exact answer on if the substance was a acid or base.
3 Density - First we had to find the mass, to find the mass you subtract the mass of the liquid and the mass of the cylinder. Then to find the volume you have to measure the volume of the liquid in the cylinder.
4 Litmus Paper - We got a bit of the clear liquid and put it in a beaker, then we dipped the red and blue pieces of litmus paper in them the beaker.

Test Results:

1 The test results were Mrs. Craveners pen was matched to the pen on the note
2 The unknown substance had a pH of 8. That means it is a base.
3 The Density of the clear liquid was .847 g/cubic cm
4 Neither the red or blue paper changed so it is a neutral liquid
Conclusion: The killer was tracked by many experiments like chromotograhy that showed up that it was Mrs. Craveners pen so is was Mrs. Cravener. The clear liquid in the water bottle was a mix of water and ethanol.
